Veya ist ein Electronic-Sound-Duo.
Minimalistisch, rau und improvisiert verbinden Maik Antrack (Groovebox) und Georg Kostron (Gitarre) den Klang des Stroms in analogen Bauteile mit den Klängen und Geräuschen der effektierten Gitarre. Downtempo. Ambient.

Ein zentrales Element ist der Frequenzbereich zwischen 50 und 60 Hertz. Ob dort massive Subbässe schieben oder ein brutzelndes Netzbrummen Spannung verrät – Veya zieht aus diesen Frequenzen Inspiration. Strom als Stimmung. Brummen als tonaler Beweis der modernen Welt. Grobe Ideen von Stücken entstehen live neu – eine Performance bietet Improvisation und reagiert auf Raum und Publikum.

Kompositorisch bewegt sich Veya modal. Mikrotonarten, Glitches, Wellen von Rauschen neben einem süßen Motiv. Explorationen im Off zwischen Holz und Strom.

Stilistisch liegt Veya zwischen Ambient, Trip-Hop, experimentellem Electro und Noise. Vergleichbar sind sie mit Künstlern wie Fennesz,... Ihre Musik entsteht durch Zuhören, Resonanz und Reaktion – eine organische Elektronik.

Minimal, raw and with improvisation, Maik Antrack (Groovebox, synth) and Georg Kostron (guitar, fx) combine sounds of electric current in analogue circuits with sounds and noises of a fx-driven guitar. It’s ambient, it’s downtempo.

A central element is the frequency-range between 50 and 60Hz. If you are looking for a massive sub-bass punch or a sizzling noise in your AC-outlet – Veyas’ inspiration lies there. Current as a tuning sound. Noise as a central proof of a modern society. Sketches of composed pieces come to life each time Veya plays – their performance shows improvisation and is influenced by space and audience.

In their compositions, modality is a key element. Microtonal structures, glitches and waves of noise fill the air as sweet little motifs do. They are explorations beyond the frontier of current and wood.
